Monument to Emperor FJI remodeled into a monument to Hans Kudlich

Dolní Řasnice (German: Rückersdorf) is a municipality and village in the north of the Czech Republic, in the Liberec district, in the Liberec Region. It is located in the Frýdlant ridge about 6 km northeast of the town of Frýdlant on the road to Jindřichovice pod Smrkem.

On the postcard, which was sent on 17 July 1914 as a greeting from Dolní Řasnice, you can see the memorial stone there. A relief can be recognized on the stone, and on the postcard there is an inscription: "Jubilee stone for Francis Joseph I. But it met the fate of almost all the emperor's monuments." It was redone for another birthday boy. I guess it's better than total destruction.

On July 27, 1924, this stone with a relief of Hans Kudlich was unveiled as a monument to a supporter of the peasants, on which was the dedication: "Liberator of the peasants Hans Kudlich." The founders of the monument are: JZD Dolní Řasnice. The bronze relief was created by Hugo Uher in Karlovy Vary.

In 2007, with the approval of the Municipal Office of Dolní Řasnice, it was renovated by the "Frýdlant County Association e.V." and with the support of the "Association of Friends of Hans Kudlich e.V." and ceremonially unveiled again. To make the text generally comprehensible, it was supplemented with another plaque with the dedication in Czech and German:

"In memory of the liberator of the peasants, who contributed to the abolition of serfdom and serfdom in 1848.

The monument was unveiled on July 27, 1924. – Restored – Former citizens of Dolní Rasnice

Citizens' Association Frýdlant e.V. (Heimatkreis Friedland e.V.) – The village of Dolní Rasnice."
